Pilar Mayor Charlie Pizarro has revealed plans for Marriott and Hyatt hotels to establish branches in the upcoming Harbor City project in this town, signaling a major boost to the province’s tourism and economic landscape.

The Harbor City development, spanning 250 hectares along Manila Bay, is envisioned to be a premier economic hub in Central Luzon. The project includes world-class amenities such as a golf course, Escolta Heritage Building, Giethoorn Village inspired by the Netherlands, an aviary, a forest park, an executive village, amusement and theme parks, and a Marina Hotel and Restaurant/Plaza.

Industrial and commercial zones, including eco-parks, a pier, and warehouses, are also part of the master plan, which is expected to bring significant revenue and employment opportunities to Pilar.

Mayor Pizarro, the longest-serving mayor of Pilar, underscored the project’s potential to elevate the town’s status. “This development will not only boost our local economy but also attract global investors and tourists to Pilar,” he said.

The inclusion of Marriott and Hyatt hotels in Harbor City is expected to further cement Pilar’s position as a key player in the province’s economic growth. Although no specific construction timeline has been disclosed, the local government assured the public that updates will be provided as the project progresses.

Pilar has consistently been recognized for good governance, having earned multiple Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) awards under Pizarro’s leadership. Once completed, Harbor City is projected to surpass Balanga City in revenue generation, making Pilar one of the wealthiest towns in Bataan.

Further announcements regarding the project’s timeline and the participation of other global brands are anticipated in the coming months.
